What is it?
AppalNET is a portal system designed to consolidate seperate University services such as Student Services, Parking Registration, WebCT, PANS (Personal Announcements), and many others, into a single login environment.
In addition, AppalNET is the preferred means for students to access their email, announcements, and class resources. AppalNET also provides user groups (commonly called bulletin boards, discussion boards or forums), and personal and group calendars.
AppalNET Services provided by Web Services:
Web Services maintains "News and General Announcements" for students, staff, and faculty, "Campus Events", and approves and administers "Groups" requests and permissions.
News and General Announcements
This channel in AppalNET is limited to campus academic, business, health, computer service, and Student Government Association announcements. Most items run for a maximum of 10 days. If you have a campus or University-sponsored news or announcement you would like listed in this channel, please use our online form and we will let you know if it can be posted.
The events in this channel of AppalNET are gleaned from the main University calendar of events, events circulated through email lists, and other events provided by Student Programs. If you have a campus or University-sponsored event you would like listed in this channel, please use our online form and we will let you know if it can be posted. Campus Events is updated once a week - event information must be submitted before 9am Monday morning to be included for the week.
AppalNET Groups provides the campus community a place to discuss topics of interest such as academics, politics, intramural sports, and clubs.
